Day 2 of the 12 Day Challenge {for CHANGE} - February

One of the main ways we are asked to help create change is to make a donation. If you have a bit of spare change, there are often many considerations that factor into this decision, including:
Answering these questions may take a bit of research on your part and there are a lot of opinions versus facts being voiced these days. Ultimately you should be confident that your money is working toward creating the difference you want to see.
This month I'm having a bit of fun along with donating to some {what I consider} important causes and community organizations.
First, I enjoyed a pancake breakfast on Tuesday in support of the Housing Help Centre (through Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold) at the Mayor's Pancake Breakfast. I also get to sport a new toque!
Later this month, I'll be donating to and walking for the Coldest Night of the Year in support of Start Me Up Niagara. For me, the walk is best summed up with the following post from their facebook page:
"There is a moment during every CNOY it seems when we all stop talking and laughing and taking selfies and we just trudge through the quiet streets feeling the night pressing in more than usual. It is in those moments when the walk really begins."
I'm still hoping to have a few people join me on the walk this year ($25 if you register before Feb. 19, $40 after) or perhaps sponsor me if you can't participate.
What are your favourite organizations or local events that you support financially?
